altonale Festival

In the organizer's words:

The altonale is northern Germany's most comprehensive and diverse cultural event. It sees itself as a festival of cultural diversity with an interdisciplinary and participatory focus. Several hundred individual events from the fields of art, theater, film, music, literature and youth take place every year during the 10 days of the festival in early summer. The altonale is always looking for new and unusual locations for its program.

The festival center on Platz der Republik is an integral part of the altonale. Here, visitors can expect a current program from all altonale cultural sectors for two weeks.

Other highlights include the altonale flea market around the park, the art market on the Christianswiese and the Buntes Altona information mile.
