Eighty-year-old widow Charlotte Dubois lives in the center of Paris. After the death of her husband a few years ago, she met Sylvie Caron , with whom she lives in her stepdaughter Isabelle's apartment. As the sprightly pensioner has a lifelong right to live in the apartment, but this is for her alone, Isabelle is not allowed to know of Sylvie's existence. However, this is not difficult, as the stepdaughter has been living and working in distant Nice for years. One morning, as the two are sitting at breakfast, the doorbell suddenly rings: Isabelle is suddenly standing in front of it, and things get complicated with her. Because the young woman has lost her job in the provinces, she is now returning to Paris and wants to move in temporarily. What should happen to Sylvie now? Quite simply, she is unceremoniously introduced as a domestic help ... but can that work in the long term? Comedic entanglements are inevitable, and when Isabelle finally announces her own needs, the two pensioners quickly have to look for a new apartment, which is practically unaffordable in the middle of Paris. So the sprightly duo first try to make Isabelle sick of her old apartment. However, this extremely amusing game fails to have the desired effect, leaving them with only one way out: A bank robbery! The plan is single-mindedly put into action and all problems seem to be solved! It's just too bad that Isabelle now works as an investigator for an insurance company and picks up the trail ... but of course there is a happy ending at the end - the only question is for whom? But one thing is clear: growing old is not for cowards!
