When we think of death and burial, thoughts of loss, mourning or ideas of an afterlife usually predominate. Using various examples of Greek burial cultures, this guided tour explores the extent to which death and burial were seen as part of life itself.

15:00 "Of battle, beauty and brutality - Athena, Aphrodite and Medusa"
Greek myth is as prevalent as ever in modern pop culture. But what are the "true" stories of these three mythological figures? And how did the Greeks view them?

Ecstasy, violence and death. The Greek Dionysus is not just a god of wine with a pronounced preference for parties, as pop culture likes to portray him. In ancient times, he was political, polarizing and problematic. Come along to the Museum of Antiquities and get a little insight into the mythology of a particularly exciting god.

15:00 "Of farewell and remembrance - how death was dealt with in antiquity"
How did people say goodbye to the deceased in antiquity? How did people honor their memory? We want to get to the bottom of these questions and find out what was in an ancient grave, what it looked like from the outside and how people returned there to commemorate the deceased.
