Ambient II - Catherine Christer Hennix Mixtapes

In the organizer's words:

Compilation and mastering: Matthias Zoeller, Hamburg

This year, Ambient at Christianskirche is dedicated to the Swedish musician, composer, mathematician, philosopher, poet and visual-arts artist Catherine Christer Hennix (1948 - 2023).

As a musician, she worked with La Monte Young, Henry Flynt and Terry Riley, among others, from the late 1960s and became a student of the then influential Pakistani singer Pandit Pran Nath. She understood her music as a sonic, vibrating practice and therefore composed mainly electronic music (especially minimal and drone).

Different pieces from the period from 1976 to 2021 will be played on each of the three dates. All tracks can be heard and downloaded at youtube.com and bandcamp.com.
