Michael A. Grimm, the award-winning actor is Tevje, the milkman, who lives in Anatevka in the Ukraine. A God-fearing man, blessed with five daughters, several dairy cows, his practical wife Golde and a Jewish sense of humor. The story by Scholem Alejchem is set at the beginning of the 20th century in the Russian Tsarist Empire. Michael A. Grimm brings to life the whole world of Tevye with all its beauty, its music, the vastness of the Ukraine, its longings and its small and very great hardships. "If I were rich one day" he sings, imagining how easily he could marry off his beloved daughters, give his wife everything he wanted and finally have enough time for the Torah. Reality is brutal and wants it differently. Tevje is representative of all the people in Anatevka, Ukraine and everywhere.
