South Connected

...is the current project of the Cologne-based pianist and composer, which includes a retrospective of his time as a student at the Swiss Jazzschool in Bern. The exceptional saxophone soloist Domenic Landolf, who has been firmly anchored in Switzerland for several decades and is considered to be an artistic first choice on an international level, will therefore also be taking part. The unique compositional language of band leader Schnermann in combination with this soloistic power forms the cell of this energetic melange, which is expanded by Jakob Bänsch, probably Germany's greatest young trumpet talent at the moment, Matthias Nowak, one of the most sought-after bass players in the country (and Mannheim's new bass professor) and Silvio Morger on drums, the second Swiss-born member of this troupe (winner of the "New German Jazz Prize") with his unmistakably energetic drive. Anyone who likes contemporary jazz with a good dose of tradition will certainly not be out of place here.
