Angélique Kidjo is one of the most influential artists on the international music scene. The Benin-born singer has won five Grammy Awards and released sixteen albums. Her music combines West African rhythms with modern influences from R&B, funk, jazz and Latin American music. With her powerful voice, her captivating stage presence and her versatility, she inspires people all over the world.

Kidjo is known for combining traditional African music with modern sounds and reinterpreting classical works. Among other things, she has rearranged the album Remain in Light by the Talking Heads in her own way and paid tribute to songs by Cuban legend Celia Cruz in an award-winning album. Her album Mother Nature brings her together with young African artists from the genres of Afrobeat, Afro-pop, dancehall, hip-hop and alternative R&B, setting a strong example for the future of African music. Her best-known works include the Grammy-winning albums DJIN DJIN, EVE, Sings and Celia.

Throughout her career, Kidjo has collaborated with some of the world's greatest musicians and producers, including Philip Glass, Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Beyoncé), David Donatien and Russell Elevado (D'Angelo, Kamasi Washington). She has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Bruckner Orchestra, the Philharmonie de Paris and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, demonstrating her extraordinary musical range.

In addition to her music, Angélique Kidjo is intensively involved in social projects. As a UNICEF and OXFAM ambassador, she is particularly committed to the education of girls in Africa. In 2019, she was appointed by French President Emmanuel Macron as spokesperson for the AFAWA initiative, which provides financial support for women in Africa. She also founded the Batonga Foundation, which gives young girls access to education.

Angélique Kidjo is much more than a musician - she is a cultural ambassador, a visionary and an activist. Her music transcends borders, connects cultures and inspires people worldwide.
