What does shame have to do with femininity?

Feeling shame is completely normal, regardless of gender. However, women are particularly often ashamed of and apologize for their own bodies because they are considered too successful, are single or remain childless.

Anika Landsteiner has also noticed this phenomenon in herself and explores the question of why this is the case. In clever, personal texts about all aspects of her life - from work to illness and sexuality to coming to terms with her biography - she reflects on self-worth, crossing boundaries and the fact that she no longer allows herself to be belittled, neither by herself nor by others.
