ANIRAHTAK Trio

The ensemble began as a duo consisting of Anirahtak (alias Ulla Marks) and Ludger Singer. Both are long-time companions who often leave the beaten track in their musical excursions through a repertoire ranging from Weill and Ellington to Singer's own compositions. They improvise freely, even with incomplete fragments, and deliberately do without sheet music in order to give free rein to their creativity.

Christian Ramond first became part of the ensemble at the "InFront Festival der GZM" in Aachen in 2006. At subsequent concerts throughout Germany, he effortlessly integrated himself into the group and enriched it with his warm double bass sound, which he also understands as a melodic instrument.

Together they create sound interweavings that oscillate between jazz, trash, experiment and triviality - a mixture of lovingly naive and bizarrely absurd moods.
