"Arriving in Germany - Women talk" a discussion on the occasion of the International Weeks against Racism
Metzstraße 37, 81667 Munich
16:30-18:30
Protecting human dignity - can I make a contribution?
Different paths have led women from their home countries to Germany, and these experiences are often an extensive topic in themselves.
In our event, we want to take a look at the time of arrival in Germany, what experiences did the women have to cope with? How confusing, alienating, frightening, astonishing and sometimes amusing can it be when a person encounters a new environment and society, different structures and behaviors.
Does the latter perhaps also affect us when we experience situations in which we could provide support?
Looking back, what would the women have needed or wished for in one situation or another?
In our event, we exchange ideas with invited women from our groups who report on their experiences. We ask prepared questions, but the participants can also actively contribute their own questions. This creates an open dialog that opens up new perspectives and promotes mutual understanding.
