Anna Heller - Hommage an Sofia Gubaidulina

In the organizer's words:

Sofia Gubaidulina, a grande dame of contemporary music, passed away on March 13, 2025. Her work is characterized by a unique tonal language that combines spirituality, sound research and emotional depth.

One of her most remarkable works is Musical Toys - a cycle of 14 short, imaginative miniatures for piano. These pieces are not only playful, but also profound, with unconventional harmonies and an almost fairy-tale atmosphere. They run like a common thread through the concert and combine the works of other female composers to create a fascinating musical mosaic.

Gubaidulina has shown that music is more than just sound - it is a language of the innermost being, a bridge between worlds.
