Theater director Markus Dentler enchants the audience as "Anne-Marie the Beauty".

In the middle of the audience we meet Anne-Marie, an actress from the Parisian suburbs and the main character in this bittersweet play. In her real life, she was always the supporting role, now she has her grand entrance. She takes stock of her life in an entertaining and bizarre way.

Yasmina Reza, the master of biting comedy, unerringly puts her finger in the wound between aspiration and reality, appearance and reality, desire and ability, stage and floral wallpaper. On the occasion of the 40th season of Die Komödianten, theater director Markus Dentler presents a great new solo and embodies the female role, which the author explicitly requested should always be played by a man.

"When writing "Anne-Marie the Beauty", I thought of the French actor André Marcon. Anne-Marie is a woman, but for reasons of distance and universality, I wanted this character to be interpreted by a man."
