Songs and ballads of love and death

At the end of the season, Klassik in Spandau offers a very special festival of voices: soprano Annette Dasch, celebrated at the Bayreuth and Salzburg Festivals, and baritone Klemens Sander, who has won many awards for his song writing at international competitions, will present duets on the two contrasting and yet so often interwoven themes of love and death. Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" and Loewe's bloodthirsty Edward Ballad are just as much a part of the program as Mahler's sometimes whimsical, sometimes mind-shattering Wunderhorn settings. Berlin song pianist Manuel Lange will provide the colorful sound accompaniment for the evening, which promises a high degree of creative intensity and drama.
