The self-confident Anora works in a strip club in Brooklyn. When Ivan, the son of a Russian oligarch, becomes her enthusiastic customer, he makes her a lucrative offer. Sean Baker (THE FLORIDA PROJECT) dedicates his films to outsiders for whom the "American dream" is only a vague hope. His latest work, which has won numerous Oscars, is also a - surprisingly funny - trip through the socio-economic contrasts of the present day. The ending is at least debatable, but leading actress Mickey Madison (also an Oscar winner) is a delight from the very beginning as the title character Anora.
