In their documentary, Marco Heinig and Steffen Maurer shed light on the emergence and development of the Antifa movement in Germany during the 1990s and 2000s. In the midst of the racist violence that shook the country after reunification, a strong anti-fascist movement formed. This movement, which was characterized by a wide range of activities - from militant actions to political education and investigative research - confronted the growing neo-fascism with remarkable professionalism. Five activists speak publicly for the first time about their experiences and activities. Their stories are combined with rich archive material to create an intense cinematic portrait. The film goes beyond a mere historical reappraisal and reveals the various layers that surround the myth of Antifa.
