"Antisemitismuskritische Bildungsarbeit nach dem 7. Oktober 2023" Fortbildung für Multiplikatorinnen und Multiplikatoren

Since Hamas' terrorist attack on the Jewish state on October 7, 2023, the mood in many educational and youth institutions has also changed. Hostility towards Jews is more open than ever before, and anti-Israeli attitudes are held not only by young people but also by some educational staff. For 20 years, anti-Semitism-critical education has been trying to sensitize young people to anti-Semitic resentments and world views in the debate on the Israel-Palestine conflict and to promote reflective approaches to Israel and Israeli society. This training course for multipliers is intended to show the tasks we face in view of the Hamas attack on Israel, new escalations in the conflict, the protracted war in Gaza and its complete destruction.

Together with Rosa Fava, history teacher, and Götz Nordbruch, Islamic and social scientist, we will discuss which attitudes and methods can be used to think about the diverse biographical references of young people and professionals to the Israel-Palestine conflict and the entanglements of anti-Semitic and racist discourses in Germany.

Dr. Rosa Fava is a history teacher, headed the ju:an practice center for youth work critical of anti-Semitism and racism at the Amadeu Antonio Foundation in Berlin until the end of 2023 and is currently working on events and publications June to August 2025 19 at ibim - Intersektionales Bildungswerk in der Migrationsgesellschaft. Her dissertation was published in 2015 under the title Die Neuausrichtung der Erziehung nach Auschwitz in der Einwanderungsgesellschaft. A discourse analysis critical of racism.

Dr. Götz Nordbruch is an Islamic and social scientist and co-head of the competence network "Islamist Extremism" at ufuq.de. He has worked as a research assistant and assistant professor at several universities. Until March 2020, he was a board member of the Federal Working Group on Religious Extremism. His dissertation dealt with encounters with National Socialism in Syria and Lebanon in the years 1933-1945.
