Antritts-Inszenierung von Prof. Ansgar Weigner

In the organizer's words:

Director Prof. Ansgar Weigner studied musicology, art history and German language and literature at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. In his master's thesis, he dealt with the leitmotif technique in Richard Strauss' opera "Die Frau ohne Schatten". During his studies, he gained directing experience through internships and assistantships at renowned opera houses, including the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. After graduating, he worked as an assistant director at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and began his successful freelance career in 2007/08. Since the winter semester 2024/25, he has held the professorship for Scenic Design at the HfK Bremen.

Prof. Weigner: "After almost 20 years of freelance work as a director for musical theater, I am now very much looking forward to working at the University of the Arts in Bremen. The teaching of psychological processes and their physical implementation, which the singing performer has to master on stage in professional life, is particularly close to my heart. Only when singing technique and stage interpretation are harmoniously combined can an overall scenic impression be created."

Students from the singing classes present "Gianni Schicci" by Giacomo Puccini. The performances will take place from July 17-20 at 7:30 pm in the HfK Bremen gallery.
