Introduction: 45 minutes before the start

"When the poor brain is cracking, there's nothing like packing a suitcase and sailing away."
Large cruise ships are meeting places and vacation destinations, air polluters and luxury status symbols at the same time. The transatlantic barge named "MS America" in Cole Porter's hit musical Anything Goes also appears as a vanishing point, a place of immersion. In Adriana Altaras' staging, things on board the boat are correspondingly scrapped and unleashed, uninhibited, with the steamer in the new Hanover production spiraling upwards into the humid heights ...
The "MS" and the "Am" of the ship's name have already faded in the wind and rain. Only the letters "Erica" remain. On this wet and dry musical voyage on the high seas, we meet a wealthy, shy guy who is looking for the love of his life, a show-dancing lady who has it thick as a fist, a gangster who pretends to be a priest - and other dubious and sincere characters. Who loves whom, who cheats on whom and who (wet)shaves the poodle at the end: That may remain a big ocean mystery.
Cole Porter's unforgettable hits such as the eponymous "Anything Goes" or "I Get a Kick Out of You" will keep us going through the evening. Moral of the story: When life gets crazy, just put on your (step) dancing shoes, let the ship sail and sing for all you're worth! Everything flows. Everything dances. Nothing works anymore. But anything goes!
