Dear Berlin family, gather around!
We organize our third show night of a new format named "Rohmaterial". The idea of this evening is to provide a stage to productions in an early stage. These shows are still fresh and are sensitive to audience reactions, to consider them in the creation process. Each evening we will welcome between two or three shows. The artists pitch their projects during an open call and were selected as the best and most suitable productions for the "Rohmaterial" format.
This time we have two wonderful shows:
ARAKÉ by Clara Larcher
RAUM - ZEIT Shortcut by Tobias Dohm & Fabian Laute
ARAKÉ
-Contemporary Circus and dance between Ropes-
"A constantly transforming multicorde, knots in which metaphors of femininity are knotted and unknotted, a suspended body that dances solving the riddles of entanglements at the rhythm of a sound journey."
In a world made of ropes, a woman entangles herself in the spider web of her unconsciousness. She uncovers the tangles of everything she has become accustomed to keeping silent behind her desire to reflect the feminine standards. In the entanglements she finds paths and solutions and she learns how to express herself and unleash her silences through body movement.
Araké is a desire for authenticity, a praise for the discovery of possibilities hidden by limitations, a reminder to learn how to solve what seems inextricable and unpredictable, fragile and imperfect.
A contemporary circus solo show where a feminine body dances through a multicorde in continuous plastic and symbolic transformation.
RAUM - ZEIT Shortcut
In RAUM - ZEIT, Tobias Piero Dohm invites the audience to enter a space that is constantly evolving - a space between body and sound, materiality and object. Sand-filled spheres and kinetic apparatuses float, roll, rotate and trace movements - they leave fleeting traces, forming ephemeral landscapes. The sand becomes the central material and a metaphor: it stores time, makes change visible and opens up associative spaces between memory, transience and balance. The space itself becomes an actor, the spectators become explorers.
Between deconstructed juggling, performance, installation and modular soundscapes, composed live by Fabian Laute, a sensual experience is created in which time does not appear linear, but as a living, magical structure - full of dynamism and surprising revelations.
