Wisconsin-based band Archers are a force to be reckoned with. The original duo formed in 2015 as the brainchild of founders Ben Koehler (guitar) and Nathanael Pulley (vocals), laying the foundation for a dynamic musical journey. Sharing a passion for both the metalcore and pop-rock worlds, it didn't take long for their casual creative outlet to turn into a project that sums up the ups and downs of life, mental health and relationships. With the later addition of Oscar Porter (bass/vocals) and Grayson Mesarosh (drums), Archers have since been blazing their own trail in the music industry as classic DIY artists on their own terms.
Their metalcore cover of "The Hills" by The Weeknd, which has racked up over two million Spotify streams to date, propelled the band onto the national stage. They kept the momentum going by releasing the original tracks 'Bleed For This' in 2018 and 'Black Lung' in 2019. This was followed in 2020 by the EP "New Normal!", which introduced a new sound for the band by blending their traditional metal elements with a core sound of pop production elements.
Their infectious soundscapes and introspective lyrics resonated with listeners early on. Each song tells a story that is both vulnerable and combative, a juxtaposition that hits home with their loyal, very diverse fan base. In the darkest of times, there is a need to regain strength and vigor, and Archers find the light through their punchy blend of distorted guitars and soulful vocals.
In 2021, Archers took a big step with the release of "Blanket Fort", which earned them a reputation as the "softest boys in metalcore", blending pop-punk with metalcore and clean pop backing tracks. "Bitter" was released in 2022 and was the single that finally solidified the band's sound and set the stage for future releases.
Over the past two years, the band has toured the US independently and relentlessly. From big waves at Louder Than Life Festival and Blue Ridge Rock Festival to sold out clubs alongside acts like I Prevail, Palisades and From Ashes To New, pure energy and passion poured into their live shows. With the release of their new EP "Precious Face" last year, it's now time for the Archers to take the European continent by storm.
