The architecture firm Bruno Fioretti Marquez was founded in 1995 by Piero Bruno, Donatella Fioretti and José Gutierrez Marquez and is internationally active with offices in Berlin and Lugano.
The office focuses on cultural buildings as well as residential and educational buildings, also in the examination of existing listed architecture - some projects have been realized as part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The majority of the projects realized have resulted from successful competitions and have been awarded architectural prizes such as the German Architecture Prize or the DAM Prize for Architecture in Germany. The projects have been shown in numerous exhibitions and published in international and national specialist publications. Monolithic constructions and the use and effect of the material in architecture are among the main interests of the office, which is expressed both in the designs and the built projects, as well as in research and teaching. As part of interdisciplinary projects, Bruno Fioretti Marquez analyze and develop building technologies that combine contemporary sustainability requirements with the simplicity of traditional solid, monolithic structures and thus redefine the concept of the "monolithic" in terms of sustainability.
