Arena Overture 2025 promises a rousing concert experience in the style of the popular "Last Night of the Proms". The legendary final concert of the world's largest music festival thrills thousands year after year at London's Royal Albert Hall and is broadcast live around the world. The Lobeda West festival site is transformed into a stage for British musical tradition, great emotions and a festive atmosphere.

Under the direction of Russell N. Harris, who has been conducting and presenting the format of British promenade concerts all over the country for over 20 years, including in Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie in autumn 2024, the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra will present a varied program ranging from solemn overtures to Scottish folk tunes and patriotic classics.

The renowned baritone Richard Morrison, who has performed in all of the UK's renowned concert halls with leading orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and has appeared in many opera productions in Germany, brings British flair to Jena with his expressive voice.

You can look forward to masterpieces by Edward Elgar, Hubert Parry, Henry Wood, Ralph Vaughan Williams and many other musical highlights. Of course, the traditional audience favorites are not to be missed: "Fantasia on British Sea Songs", "Jerusalem" and "Pomp and Circumstance" ensure a brilliant finale with goosebumps guaranteed!

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, choirs from the Jena Music and Art School under the direction of Claudia Zohm and Tilman Wölz will open the evening and get you in the mood for the concert from 19:00.
