ARGIES are back in Mannheim - that is truly a reason to celebrate. These likeable punk rockers will once again rock everything away. Punk rock with rock'n'roll and ska influences, plus Spanish vocals that spread flair - that's the recipe for success. A pinch of THE CLASH, a pinch of RANCID and another pinch of UK SUBS, but 100% ARGIES. In the past, they have often been on the road with Die toten Hosen. You can expect a sweat-inducing show. It will make every dance leg happy!

Since their beginnings in 1984, the Argies have distinguished themselves through the depth of their libertarian poetry, the power of their music and the intelligence and coherence of their political stance.
Although their musical roots lie in 1970s British punk, their music today blends reggae, funk, ska, dub, rock and roll and Latin American rhythms.
The name "Argies" is the derogatory nickname for "Argentines", a term widely used by British soldiers during the 1982 Malvinas (Falklands) war. However, The Argies have nothing to do with the chauvinism prevalent on either side of the Falklands War. On the contrary: by adapting the insult, the anti-racist political punks consciously take the side of all minorities and outsiders, instead of nationalism they cultivate internationalism. Musically, the combo was heavily influenced by classic English punk from 1976 to 1979: The Clash, Sham 69, the Buzzcocks and the US bands Social Distortion and Rancid are among the Argies' acoustic reference points - Rancid also because their twelve albums to date feature ska, reggae and Latin influences alongside powerful rock.

As exemplary "do-it-yourselfers", they have built up a fruitful career in absolute independence. Their name is a derogatory transliteration of the English word "Argentines", a term popularized by the British tabloid press during the infamous Falklands War. Far from being nationalistic, the name associates them with the despised and marginalized minorities of the world. They describe themselves as "internationalists".
In the mid-90s, they left their hometown of Rosario and settled in Buenos Aires, where they toured the underground with an average of 35 gigs a year and became one of the most played bands of the time.
Since 1999 and to this day, the Argies have toured constantly in America, Asia and Europe and have played 1274 international concerts in 45 countries, making them the Argentine band with the most performances outside the country. Remote countries such as China, Indonesia and the Philippines. Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam or Singapore in Asia as well as almost the entire European continent, South America and Mexico have already seen the band live.
Argies work as a cooperative of musicians who are part of the project for an indefinite period of time, entering and leaving the band with the same freedom with which they work in the band and learn and teach through their differences. This particular method has made the Argies a truly independent cultural movement over the years.
