The young Icelandic artist Arny Margret stands for modern folk, indie and an introspective style, characterized by a very emotional and personal approach. In addition to her fragile and touching vocals, her sometimes rich but often intimate instrumentation is moving, enhancing the depth of self-reflection and existentialism in her songs.

After the release of her sensational debut album "They only talk about the weather" (2022), Arny went on a world tour, playing her own shows as well as supporting like-minded artists such as Leif Vollebekk, Blake Mills, Ry X, Asgeir and Wilco.

In spring 2024, she started recording her new album "I miss you, I do", which had just been released. First she recorded a few songs with Brad Cook from the Bon Iver environment, then a few more with Andrew Berlin in the studio of her musical hero Gregory Alan Isakov. She then traveled to New York to finish her new album with legendary producer Josh Kaufman. Kaufman opened up new musical spaces for her, entwining her intense and fragile songs with electric guitars, keyboards and even sometimes booming drums. Josh took her songs as an invitation to immerse himself in them and create new musical microcosms. And this is exactly what Arny Margret had hoped for from him.

Arny openly admits that many of her songs deal with dark and melancholy themes. But for the first time in her young, exciting career, there is also a certain lightness - as if she has realized that all these challenges are simply part of growing up. Her new songs reveal a gentle, self-confident step towards a more mature future.
