Tobias Hoffmann (Tobimann) was born in 1971 into a family of artists in Duisburg. His works are characterized by bright colors, vivid contrasts, impulsive gestures and playful forms.

Hoffmann finds inspiration in his rich inner store of ideas - fed by snapshots from music, film and politics. His paintings are created in a precise build-up process in which layers of paint are deliberately removed - a technique that lends his work an unmistakable signature.
