As her alter ego "Paprika", the young psychologist Chiba travels into the dreams of her patients in order to explore their subconscious. She is helped by a technical invention that makes this journey possible. But the device is stolen. Together with investigator Konakawa, she sets out to find the thief of the device. Satoshi Kon achieves another genre milestone after his classic Perfect Blue. In his insane animation style, Paprika combines dream visions with elements of film noir, science fiction and crime film - five years before Inception!
