The Danes Artillery may have already established themselves at the forefront of the thrash movement in the mid-1980s, but they are still a killer band almost 40 years later.
With their appropriately titled tenth album X, they prove once again that they have lost nothing as a forge of relentlessly hard and unadulterated stainless steel. "We wanted to retain our trademarks, i.e. typical riffs and hook lines combined with aggression and melody," explains guitarist Michael Stützer. "The band always tries to fuse melodic thrash with elements of the heavy bands of the '70s and '80s, but this time we also tried out new things. We hardly need to motivate ourselves when composing, because we love what we do."
