Artist Talk: James Gregory Atkinson und Carina Bukuts im Gespräch

In the organizer's words:

James Gregory Atkinson's work "CET/CST" (2021) sheds light on the complex after-effects of the history of the Second World War from a transatlantic perspective. The starting point of the analysis is Atkinson's family history, which provides insights into the deeply rooted mechanisms of structural racism. His work draws attention to the disparity faced by African-American soldiers who fought for the liberation of Europe while simultaneously experiencing racism in both the US military and German society.
