ArtNight: Banksy Street-Art-Kollektion

What you can expect:

Banksy is THE icon of modern street art. His works adorn walls all over the world. On this ArtNight, you will choose one of four of his world-famous works and create your own piece of street art on canvas.

Using the stencil technique, you will sketch out your chosen motif and then skillfully apply acrylic paint using various painting techniques. Step by step, you'll create your very own Banksy artwork, adding street art flair to your own four walls.

No matter which Banksy motif you choose - at this ArtNight, you are the icon!

The Banksy motifs available to you are: Girl with Balloon, Zebra Wash, Man with Umbrella and the Flower Bouquet Thrower.

What you'll learn:

Acrylic:

Acrylic paint is a real all-rounder! When applied thinly, it can be used to create watercolor effects; when applied thickly, it gives a high color intensity. It can be thinned with water, dries quickly, is odorless and waterproof when dry.

Wet-on-wet:

The wet-on-wet technique involves working quickly and directly on the paint that has just been applied and is still wet, or spreading it with another layer of paint. It can be used to create beautiful organic and soft color transitions.

Glazing:

The glazing technique, or glazing paint application, is all about thinning the paint and the right timing. The aim is to create delicate (glazing), translucent layers of paint that do not cover. Although we do not work with glaze paint, we can achieve very similar effects with acrylic paint.

Sprinkling (spray technique):

Sprinkling is a form of abstract art in which paint is dripped, sprinkled, sprayed or poured onto the canvas. It is an expressive, spontaneous, abstract painting technique that creates an expressive and dynamic pictorial effect.

Pastos:

The pastose application of paint, also known as the impasto technique, can usually be recognized by the relief-like application of the paint. It is an application of paint that you can often not only see, but even feel. This technique involves applying the paint as thickly and opaquely as possible.

- High-quality canvas, stretched on a stretcher frame (30 cm x 40 cm, primed)

- 2 flat brushes

- 1 round brush

- 12 high-quality acrylic paints

- easel

- ArtNight apron

You will of course take your painted picture home with you, all other materials are for on-site use only.
