Who wants to go to the Hafengeburtstag when you can celebrate in a varied and diverse way with lots of nice people? And with a deeper meaning: the ASPHALTSPRENGER festival focuses on the topics of environmental protection, urban nature and sustainable urban development.

The desire for less asphalt and more space for nature and people in the city unites the organizers and visitors. For the fourth time, numerous associations and initiatives, organized by the Loki Schmidt Foundation and the BürgerStiftung Hamburg, are shaping the happening, which is fun and at the same time motivates people to actively implement environmental protection, which everyone can do. How must we behave so that future generations can also live well? How do we protect the biodiversity in our habitat? Which behaviors are sustainable? At numerous stands, environmental organizations will report on their work and offer activities that effectively help to keep our environment intact.
This year, eight live bands will provide the right beat on several stages, there will be numerous workshops, a research area and, of course, food, coffee and cake stands and much more. Adults and children of all ages can watch, listen and get active themselves.

The Asphaltsprenger Festival opens the season on the PARKS site on May 10. A big event this year is the Kidical Mass bicycle demo, which ends at around 3 pm on the grounds. Several hundred children and their families are expected to attend. Under the motto "Roads are for everyone!", the bike demo for safe traffic routes starts at 2 pm at Karolinenplatz. Every cyclist is welcome! To celebrate the arrival in style and connect the two festival areas, the entire Bullerdeich will be closed to traffic. The road and the area will be festively decorated by the Hanseatische Materialverwaltung. The kids will experience a real Tour de France feeling when they ride through a large gate erected by the "umschichten" and "Schrott bewahre" clubs to reach the finish line.

The ASPHALTSPRENGER festival brings together many of the organizations involved in the Long CityNature Day (more than 250 events on 21/22 June 2025 throughout Hamburg and northern Germany) - a "warm-up" on the topic of the environment. While the events on the Long Day of CityNature are decentralized throughout northern Germany, the Asphaltsprenger Festival brings everyone together on the PARKS site.
