The exhibition ATISMIA - "All that is solid melts into air" explores digital utopias and dystopias that show the promise of a networked future and at the same time the darker sides such as surveillance and commercialization. Experience art, music and talks on the influences of the digital world on our society.
In the organizer's words:
ATISMIA - "All that is solid melts into air" deals with various ideas of utopia and dystopia in the digital age. Early digitalization once brought with it promises of decentralized power, democratized knowledge and global unity as well as visions of a more networked future. Over time, however, more and more sinister aspects have emerged, characterized by surveillance, social alienation and relentless commercialization. In the exhibition, various artistic positions move along these contrasting perspectives. Art installations, musical performances and talks explore the promising as well as the unsettling facets of digital technologies and their social influence - artistically reflected from the perspective of a generation that has grown up in the midst of this paradigm shift.
ATISMIA - "All that is solid melts into air" explores narratives of utopia and dystopia that have emerged within the digital era. Initially hailed as a path to decentralized power, democratized knowledge, and global unity, the digital world offered visions of a brighter, more connected future. Over time, however, this landscape has brought more darker aspects, marked by surveillance, social alienation, and relentless commercialization. The event artistically explores the prospect and unsettling dimensions of digital technologies, and their influence on society, through art installations, music performances and talks from the perspective of a generation that has grown up with this paradigm shift.
