Auftaktveranstaltung: KUNST | SOMMER | TECHNIK

The KUNST | SOMMER | TECHNIK event series starts with a kick-off event at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media. In the key institution of the UNESCO City of Media Arts Karlsruhe, visitors can look forward to a varied program and a champagne reception.

Over 20 museums, galleries and other cultural venues will be presenting a wide variety of projects and works as part of the event series until October 19, 2025. Art students from the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) and the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe combine art and technology in media art works and kinetic installations. Engineering knowledge and aesthetics merge in an exhibition by KIT professor Thomas Ummenhofer to create a new formal language of steel. The institutes of the Faculty of Architecture shed light on how closely the city of Karlsruhe and the KIT are linked architecturally. The Laboratory for Electron Microscopy at KIT offers insights into the world of microscopic structures of plants. In addition, workshops at the Studio Blaupause summer academy and performances invite visitors to join in.
