"From the engine room" on board the MS Heimatland aka Galerie Hošek Contemporary - is an immersive concert installation, developed from intensive research and examination of the sound characteristics of the combustion engine.
Sounds of historic truck engines, a Rhine ship engine, diesel locomotives, Lamborghini and Trabbi are combined with live electronics, cello and bass clarinet, video feed and live overhead projections. Enhanced with snippets of conversation from interviews with specialists and vehicle enthusiasts, which reveal an intimate relationship between man and machine, the evening comes together to form a swan song to the combustion engine.
