Letters from an Indian mother to her emigrated son

A few years ago, author Maja Das Gupta visited her parents in Moosach and discovered a large box of airmail letters in the paper garbage. She took it out and kept it. For several months now, her father (92) has been translating the letters he has received since the 1950s. On 16.5.25 at 19.00, excerpts from her mother's letters will be presented in the Moosach district store. They give an idea of what distance still meant at that time. The Indian relatives' joy at receiving parcels from Europe also shows the deprivation caused by 200 years of British colonial rule.
