Ausstellung Armelle Maguer

As part of the Elbe summer, the Marktplatz der Manufakturen is hosting a special art event together with French artist Armelle Maguer. Armelle Maguer will open her showroom in the Marktplatz der Manufakturen, Versmannstraße 42, 20457 Hamburg, and personally present her large and abstract paintings. On these days (14.06., 05.07. and 02.08.) you are welcome to explore her paintings and talk directly to the artist, who will be on site. In this room, she will show you more than thirty paintings so that you can get an accurate picture of her development and her work. Most of these paintings are squares with a side length of 150cm, which is neither large nor small, but simply human and creates a dialog with the viewer. They are designed so that they can be hung in any direction, showing something different each time. The artist will be happy to present this to you on site.

In her paintings, natural elements, human structures and archetypal forms stand side by side, playing with each other and merging in the search for intensity and dynamism, which are further enhanced by the increasing use of natural materials such as environmentally friendly pigments and binders. What will you discover in the paintings? Horizons that you want to touch, lights that are happy to anchor themselves in the thickness of matter, squares that wander, archaic writings that keep a secret as well as roots or nets? And much more...

Yes, the artist particularly enjoys combining doubts about the identity of what one sees with a certain amazement about colors, materials and one's own imagination when creating her pictures.
