Heike Simmer moves - and everything moves with her: stubborn limbs stretch out on the canvas between tension and relaxation. It doesn't matter who these thighs, feet and bellies belong to, because faces are overrated!
The main thing is movement and the colors of the ice cream counter. Heike likes the sweet shades of color in strong poses and so she sometimes swings against the white with the spray can, sometimes with big gestures, to turn the background into a figure, while she dips the foreground in lemon or Malaga.
So it is no wonder that this dynamic goes beyond the frame and can also be found in ceramics, collaborations of performance, music and photography. Simmer is serious about mixed media and we are very serious about her and have the greatest pleasure in doing so!
