In the organizer's words:

Exactly 505 years ago, Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the castle church in Wittenberg. He was an uncomfortable and difficult contemporary who was controversial and showed his edges. His character attracted people. He questioned the rules in force at the time and showed his courage.

The sculptures attempt to portray Luther's character traits, courage and self-confidence. This has resulted in 15 sculptures, each of which has the Luther Bible at its heart as a connecting element. Luther had this Bible with him everywhere and always carried it on his body, very close to his heart.

Back then, Martin Luther had a message that he proclaimed to the world.
But even today, every person has a message that they carry into the world. And every person has their rough edges, just like Luther 505 years ago when he revolutionized Christianity.

The Luther figures are made of ash wood and carved with a chainsaw, which cuts rugged furrows and doesn't smooth anything over.

Marco Bruckner - wood sculptor
Marco Bruckner was born in 1996 as a second-born son and spent his childhood happily and carefree in rural Chiemgau. At the age of eight, he was already creating his first artistic works from wood. At first he tried his hand at woodturning and drawing, later he shaped wood by carving.

After an apprenticeship as a wood sculptor, he devoted himself fully to his art and pursued his passion. Since then, his abstract and figurative works have attracted increasing attention in the regional and national art world. The freelance artist now regularly takes part in national and international exhibitions and symposia.
