Ausstellung "Other Worlds" zur Kunstroute Ehrenfeld von Chris Cabrim & Gastposition Anne Wever

Other Worlds is an invitation to look into strange worlds - in the form of painting, object and print. The cycle of works by Cologne-based artist Chris Cabrim(chriscabrim.com / Instagram: @chriscabrimcrafts) moves between speculative landscape, fragmented surface and atmospheric light. The traces tell - of what we do not know, but perhaps sense.

In several series - including Stellar Grounds, Fragments and Cosmic Bodies - abstract landscapes, supposed artifacts and relics of fictional worlds emerge. Between impression, imprint and structure, material processes condense into visual narratives: Memories of something that does not exist - or has long since been lost.

Stellar Grounds, on public display for the first time, focuses on unexplored relief structures of distant planets. The works unfold between painting, object and imagination.

The exhibition is complemented by abstract works in a guest position by Anne Wever(annewever.de | Instagram: ann.curly_22). Inspired by cracks and patches in the asphalt, she explores change, transience and new beginnings. Her intuitive, process-based way of working with graphite and other materials leads to organic, dynamic compositions - and forms an exciting contrast to Cabrim's material world.

About the artist

Chris Cabrim (*1983) lives and works in Cologne. His works are created in a process-oriented dialog between impression, embossing and structure. Cabrim works at the interface of material research and painting - and is committed to independent art formats in urban space.
