Ausstellung “so what?”

In the organizer's words:

English below:

From 05.04. to 22.04. we are pleased to present the exhibition "so what?" the story of shadow grl, a hybrid exhibition of photos and texts by John Watt and Stephen Lindenmayer at Asternstraße 2.

The exhibition opens on 05.04.2025 at 5 pm with a vernissage. The artists will be present. After a short opening with speeches by Andersraum e.V. and the artists on the political situation in the USA and the exhibition itself, there will be an opportunity to view the exhibition in peace and quiet. Drinks and light snacks will be provided.

Through pictures and texts, the two artists show society's indifferent reaction to the bleak situation of marginalized people. Thematically, the exhibition takes up the confrontation with one's own gender identity in the second half of life, in an environment that is sometimes overwhelmed by this and reacts with rejection.

John Watt lives in the USA and is coming to Germany for the exhibition. Stephen Lindenmayer has lived in Germany for years, but grew up in the USA in close proximity to John. When they reconnect in adulthood, they realize that they have both come to terms with their own gender identity independently of each other and in their own way.

Free admission. The event will be held in German and English spoken language. Translation support will be available on site.
