Ausstellungseröffnung: Wie man das Meer sehen kann, Barbara Burck, Malerei

In the organizer's words:

The painter, who grew up near the Baltic Sea and studied painting under Prof. Bernhard Heisig in Leipzig, has been working with the sea for many years. On display are seascapes and beach landscapes with and without figures that she has created over the last two years. Barbara Burck's painting is sensual, powerful and poetic at the same time. Color and light play a central role, her paintings invite us to pause, to linger. In today's world, which is dominated by speed and noise, they refer to other things, to poles of calm, to meaning and fragility. This is how landscape spaces are created on the canvas - a female figure strides out of the sea. A family walks along the beach... Figures that have to assert themselves against the boundlessness of the sea. Fleeting moments that reveal the possibilities and limits of our existence. The balance between holding on and letting go is central to these pictures.
