Ausstellungseröffungen und Konzert Taaw Ensemble

On Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 7 p.m., our new exhibition "On Journeys" will open - the first on our 2025 annual theme "Adventure" - with works by Delia Samila Naghavi Alhosini, Devah Falcone, Till Krause and Atiye Noreen Lax. Also opening in the Room for Friends: Sina Heffner "Symbionts".

There will also be a concert by the Taaw Ensemble, which includes Mokhtar Aslani and the exhibiting artist Atiye Noreen Lax. The ensemble is a musical experiment that brings together instruments from different cultures such as the bazuki, oud and cello. The result is abstract soundscapes that are overlaid with Kurdish and Farsi poetry, in which social and political contexts are reported.

About the exhibition:

The concept of adventure is closely linked to the concept of hope, i.e. something that is not finished. Adventure implies a space of possibility. A journey can be the start of such an adventure, of new experiences and new acquaintances.

The form of travel addressed in the exhibition has nothing to do with the thirst for discovery and conquest of earlier centuries; rather, the hope of extraordinary experiences is the motivation for setting off for more or less distant regions. The exhibition "On Journeys" shows works that make special experiences in places traveled to public in the form of artistic works and projects.

Sina Heffner is showing her exhibition "Symbionts" in the Raum für Freunde. In her drawings and sculptures, the artist explores the boundaries between humans and nature. She is particularly interested in the transitions and interfaces where different parts are joined together. Probably everyone in Wolfsburg is familiar with the artist's giraffe sculpture on the south side near the planetarium - it celebrated its 15th birthday last year.
