In May 2016, a Chinese student was murdered in Germany. Based on detailed research, the aim here is to use literary means to clarify this unbelievably cruel sexual crime, to trace the path of perpetrators and victims and to explore the causes of the violence.
About the speaker:
LUO Lingyuan is a German-Chinese writer who studied journalism in Shanghai and has lived in Berlin since 1990. She has published several novels and short story collections and has received several awards. She received the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize in 2007 and the Erfurt City Writer's Prize in 2017. In 2025 she received the literary scholarship from the Stiftung Preußische Seehandlung.
