Music is so much more than just a pretty string of notes. Aziza Brahim realized this at a young age. Growing up in the Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria, music became a means for her to process her experiences and find new strength. After spending her youth in Cuba, she moved to Spain in 2000, from where she launched her global career. In her songs, Aziza Brahim blends rock, funk, electro and Afro-blues with Saharawi sounds and tells stories of home, resistance and hope. After several successful releases, her latest album "Mawja" also made it to the top of the European world music charts in 2024. Live, her ensemble interweaves the soul of her homeland with the energy of jazz and captivates the audience.
