Romy Miller is the founder and CEO of a company that is just taking off on the stock market. In her private life, she is happily married to a renowned theater director and the mother of two daughters. Among the new interns at Romy's company is Samuel, who confidently defies all the rules, challenges Romy's dominance and ignites repressed passions in her. They begin an affair that soon breaks all boundaries. Romy can no longer go back, increasingly loses control and puts everything at risk. With this psychological thriller, Dutch director Halina Reijn has created an intense film about social taboos, power games and loss of control that does away with old patterns of behavior and rules. Nicole Kidman, who was awarded Best Actress at the Venice International Film Festival 24 for her performance, plays the title role.
