Bach: h-Moll-Messe

If a debut at the Beethovenfest is overdue, then it is probably that of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. The ensemble has been playing at the very top of the early music scene for decades; thanks to its grassroots democratic structures, it remains vital and open to discovery. Together with the Belgian vocal ensemble Vox Luminis, it is a prime choice for Johann Sebastian Bach's great Mass in B minor. As a precursor to the "Missa solemnis", this exceptional work of music history should not be missed in Beethoven's anniversary year.
