The music that Mathis Becker makes contains thoughts that you wouldn't necessarily expect to hear at a singer/songwriter concert. His songs often wrap seemingly banal everyday observations in a garment of folk, indie and pop. For example, the noisy cobblestones or the far too crowded train station become subtle melodies, carried by Mathi's sensitive voice.

With a symbiosis of spherical cinematic pop, electronica and alternative, Cologne-based artist schneid dares to create a melancholic, dreamy sound aesthetic reminiscent of artists such as Trentemoller, Bob Moses, Olafur Arnalds, Ry X and Radiohead.

In 2024, schneid released his first work in the form of his eponymous debut album, which found an international audience and was compared to the sounds of Trentemoller, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails.

The album's lyrics describe the journey inside, telling of the longing for change and the acceptance of the past.
