Bal Folk mit Snaarmaarwaar & local friends + Hartwin Trio

In the organizer's words:

Bal Folk - that's the not-so-dusty title for folk dancing. People dance to live music in groups, in pairs or in a circle, depending on which dance is being played. Bal folk in France can be found everywhere, especially in summer. On village squares and in festival halls - and everyone joins in. A growing scene is developing in Germany.

The music of Snaarmaarwaar is not at all outdated. With two mandolins and a guitar, they provide traditional folk with stunning grooves. The three Belgian virtuosos have won several prizes for their music. At Bal Folk in Frankfurt, they will be supported by the Hartwin Trio, where the accordion takes center stage.

Before the dance, there will be a concert with Snaarmaarwaar. They will be joined by a jazz formation led by Frankfurt pianist Lorenzo Huthmacher and a group of young musicians from the scout scene. They will perform pieces that were developed in workshops with Snaarmaarwaar.

And for all those who want to learn a few steps for the Bal beforehand, there will be a dance course in the afternoon, organized by the Folk Club Frankfurt/Main.
