The Ballet Junior de Genève consists of around forty dance students aged between 17 and 23. As a training center, it maintains a link to the professional world and enables direct contact with actively working artists. Each season, the Ballet Junior de Genève prepares several dance shows with which it tours internationally. Marcos Morau's creation "Cathedral" tells of a world in which life is determined by digital technologies. The mechanical movements demand maximum performance from the dancers - every part of the body seems to function autonomously, independently of the other limbs. The performers are stuck in a world without human life and pretend to be human themselves. With meditative music by Arvo Pärt, "Cathedral" creates a retro-futuristic atmosphere that is as dark and enigmatic as it is captivating and addictive.
