Ballett im Park

For several years now, the Stuttgart Ballet has been broadcasting a performance of the company and the matinee of the John Cranko School live from the opera house to the Upper Palace Gardens at the end of the season at Ballett im Park. Thousands of spectators come together every year for the free public viewing event and enjoy the dancers of the Stuttgart Ballet and the students of the John Cranko School in action in the open air. In 2025, the audience can look forward to a broadcast of Maximiliano Guerra's colorful family ballet Don Quixote.

Once a year, Schlossplatz is transformed into an open-air theater of a special kind: thousands gather for free public viewing to experience the magic of the Stuttgart Ballet and the impressive energy of the young talents of the John Cranko School under the open sky. In 2025, dance lovers can look forward to a real feast for the senses.

On Saturday, Guerra's production conquers the big screen. The Argentinian choreographer has created a version especially for the Stuttgart ensemble that touches, enchants and effortlessly captivates even ballet novices. The crowning finale on Sunday is a matinee of the John Cranko School, broadcast live from the opera house - a glimpse into the future of dance, powerful and full of hope.

Sunday: Admission: from 09:30 am, start: 11 am

Please note:
On Saturday, July 26, Christopher Street Day will take place in downtown Stuttgart. There may be extensive road closures and restricted access to the event area.

In addition, S-Bahn services at Stuttgart main station will be partially interrupted this weekend. We recommend traveling by bike, on foot or via alternative public transport stops.

Admission & grounds

Free admission. Seating on the meadow is not permitted. Cushions and blankets may be brought along. Glass bottles, glasses and cans are not permitted for safety reasons.

Our in-house caterer Kulturgastronomie Scholz will provide refreshments.

The number of visitors is limited for safety reasons. If the maximum capacity is reached, the organizers reserve the right to temporarily close the grounds. The house rules of the Staatstheater Stuttgart apply.
