How does a catastrophe like Fukushima affect the lives of people who are seemingly far removed from it?
In her graphic novel "Super-GAU", Bea Davies sensitively tells the stories of eight people in Japan and Berlin whose fates are inextricably linked by the events of March 11, 2011. With impressive drawings and a multi-faceted narrative style, she shows how global tragedies influence personal lives.
As part of the release event, there will be a multimedia reading from "Super-GAU" by comic artist Bea Davies. In the subsequent discussion, the artistic examination of the Fukushima catastrophe and the multi-layered connections between global events and individual fates depicted in the comic will be highlighted. Afterwards, the author will sign her graphic novel.

Bea Davies, born in Italy in 1990, has lived in Berlin since 2012 and works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist. Her first graphic novel "Der König der Vagabunden", which was named a finalist for the 2019 Berthold Leibinger Stiftung Comic Prize, was published in 2019. In 2020, she published an anthology of her autobiographical comics under the title "A Child's Journey". Her first children's book "Brummps - Sie nannten ihn Ameise" by Dita Zipfel was published in 2022 and received the "Most Beautiful German Books 2022" award.
